Stephen Kakfwi is tied to some of the North's most defining moments. The long-time N.W.T leader, residential school survivor, and Dene elder has devoted much of his life to helping shape the North. He has just released his memoir Stoneface: A Defiant Dene.  It chronicles his life from birth in a bush camp on the edge of the Arctic Circle to eventually becoming the Premier of the Northwest Territories.
